I just finished putting the buttons on my latest finished project – Melissa LaBarre’s “Tea Leaves Cardigan.” I decided to make it with short sleeves because I just like the look of the short-sleeve sweater over a long-sleeve shirt. I’m so happy with it. The only minor knit nit I have is that the yarn (SWTC Tranquility) was split in every skein. Thankfully it’s wool and I was just able to spit slice it together as I went along. Had it not been a natural fiber I would have had A LOT of tedious ends to weave in. But hey, I bought it from a discount retailer, I guess I should have figured that it was less than perfect for the price.
So, now I’m torn between what to work on next. I thought about starting the “Chiton” top featured on the latest issue of Knitscene. I just got the Manos del Uruguay Serena yarn this week and it is super lovely. So soft. But I’m not sure if I’m ready to knit summer wear just yet. My other options are Kate Davies’ “Owl” sweater, which I’ve had in my queue for quite some time, or possibly Kate Gilbert’s sexy little “Peregrine” sweater or any number of Cecily Glowik MacDonald’s pattens. Oh decisions, decisions. I have to decide soon though—just got two more Dallas discs from Netflix today.
